Ekong, Ex-Flying Eagles star, to be buried tomorrow ON NOVEMBER 10, 2016 The remains of former member of the NFF Executive Committee and ex-Flying Eagles striker, Otuekong Patrick Ekong will be interred this Friday in Uyo, the Akwa Ibom State capital. A statement by Franklin Ekong, son of the deceased, indicates that the obsequies for the former vice chairman of Uyo Local Government will hold at St. Patrick’s Primary School, opposite St Patrick’s Catholic Church along Abak Road in Uyo beginning from 10.am. Ekong, who was a member of the NFF Executive Committee during the tenure of AlhajiSani Lulu Abdullahi (2006-2010) at the Glass House, died in Uyo on Thursday, 14th May, 2015 after a brief illness. Emmanuel Udoh, presently the team Manager of Akwa United FC of Uyo, was team-mate of Ekong at both Calabar Rovers and the Flying Eagles.
