Truck crushed  2 persons to death  in Lekki

Two persons were confirmed dead, yesterday, when one truck collided with a stationary one at Abidjan Bus Stop, Lekki-Epe Expressway, Lekki area of the state. The General Manager, Lagos State Emergency Management Authority, LASEMA, Mr. Adesina Tiamiyu, who confirmed the incident, said the agency received an alert in the early hours of yesterday, concerning an accident at Lekki-Epe Expressway. 

He said: “Preliminary investigations carried out by the LASEMA-ERT at the scene of the incident revealed that a trailer conveying iron rods, with number plates Lagos AGL 86 XN, while speeding, collided with another trailer loaded with cement, parked by the road side, resulting in two deaths. “The victims were the driver of iron rod truck, identified as Mubarak and the motor boy, identified as Baki. 

They were trapped inside the truck, but later extricated by the LASEMA-ERT personnel, before they were handed over to policemen from Elemoro Police Station, while the two trucks were towed to the same police station.” Tiamiyu, who said that proper investigation would be conducted by the police on the incident, advised motorists to adhere to safety regulations, while driving and also ensure that broken down trucks were properly parked with necessary safety measures taken.
